TRANSFORMING HEALING, EXPLORING THERAPY FOR ADULTS ON LIFE'S JOURNEY

WELCOME, I AM DR. ELIZA KIENITZ.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who believes that therapy can enable individuals to feel more free to be themselves and less stuck in the suffering or patterns that impact us all throughout life. My approach has formed from years of evidence-based training, supervising trainees, and most importantly, learning with and from my clients.

I am collaborative and nonjudgmental interpersonally. I also use humor, a lens for philosophy and spirituality, and a lot of questions as I get to know you. I offer a free 15 min phone consultation where you can ask questions and get to know me a bit before our first meeting. You can watch the video below to get a bit of an introduction.

Our mental health is constantly in flux. Life events, relationships, our genetics and biology, our lifestyle, all impact how we feel just existing. My goal is to help you feel more free in being who you are. We were not meant to walk this journey alone. I will walk alongside you, providing tools and support as we work together to define your desired outcomes.

Most of my time in my career thus far has been in clinical settings (primary care clinics, family physician teams, and hospitals). From my background working in medical clinics as well as my background in spiritual communities and yoga training, I integrate the whole self into my treatment approach. Mind, body, spirit. We will address your whole being in our time together. Additionally, having been trained in diversity and advocacy, I am committed to supporting the LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Veteran, and first responder communities.

WHAT I DO

I provide individual therapy sessions that are designed to meet specific goals. We will work together to set those goals and will use check in times to ensure that we are making progress toward your desired outcomes.

I use brain-based science and cutting edge insights into human behavior to inform our work together. My training includes, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Processing Therapy (trauma), Prolonged Exposure (trauma), CBT for Chronic Pain, CBT for Insomnia, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We will likely use a mix of these therapeutic interventions as we match up with your personal preferences and goals.

One of my values in therapy is empowerment. I desire each person I work with to feel increasingly empowered to be the driver of their own life. Even if we only work together for a few sessions, I hope that your experience with me will help guide you to find the right and evidence-based therapeutic approach. I am always happy to answer questions about therapy, about what the mechanisms of action are in various therapies, and to discuss treatment approaches.
